Washrooms and Beyond initiated the contest in 2017 and has successfully conducted two editions. Initially meant for budding architects and interior designers, the contest was widened to include more categories and an even diverse set of contestants.
Hansgrohe India is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hansgrohe Group, based in Schiltach/Southern Germany. Founded in 1901 in the Black Forest, the company gives water form and function with its faucets, showerheads and shower systems. The 120-year history of the company is marked by innovations, such as the first hand-held shower with multiple spray types, the first pull-out kitchen faucet, and the first wall bar to hold a hand-held shower.
The competition is meant for qualified architects and interior designers covering pan-India, divided into 4 zones. The 3rd edition is going to follow a phygital format with the zonal leg being held digitally, culminating into an on-ground Grand Finale on 25th March 2022 at a 5-star hotel in Mumbai.
Architects and interior designers, working with architectural or designing firms or having independent firms are invited to compete for the Hansgrohe India presents Wb. Washroom Design Challenge in the following two categories:
This category will focus on washroom designs that are focused on wellness and user comfort. The designs should aim to deliver a whole new level of comfort and peace of mind to the end users.
The idea is to use technologies, materials and bath fixtures in a way to maximise the wellbeing in the health and mind of the user.
This category will focus on luxury washroom designs that promote the idea of responsible design. The designs should aim to rationalise use of resources – be it water, energy or space, without compromising on the functionality of the washroom or the user comfort.
Projects should promote smart and judicious use of resources and use renewables wherever possible.
The designer needs to incorporate Hansgrohe products while designing the washroom
For the category in which Hansgrohe products are not available, the designer can choose products on their own.
